The brief
Generic content in a saturated feed
Beauty brands on social media face a brutal reality: the average user scrolls past hundreds of skincare posts daily, and most look identical — flat lays, pastel gradients, same influencer poses. Koolit Skincare had a strong product but a weak social presence. Their content wasn't bad — it was forgettable. It looked like every other skincare brand in the feed, which meant engagement was low and the brand had no distinctive recall. The challenge was building a content system that made Koolit instantly recognisable at scroll speed.
The approach
A content system behind every post
I built a modular content system rather than designing one-off posts. The system defined layout templates, a refreshed colour palette tied to the brand's "cooling" identity, purposeful typography hierarchies, and composition rules that ensured every post was on-brand whether it was a product shot, a testimonial, an educational carousel, or a promotional story. The goal was consistency at speed — giving the brand a visual signature that held across formats while being fast enough to produce for daily posting cadences.
The outcome
Recognisable in the feed, quick to produce
The content system gave Koolit a distinctive look across Instagram, Facebook and stories, apart from generic beauty content. Because it was modular, the brand team could make on-brand posts quickly without a designer for each one, and engagement improved as the brand became easier to recognise.
